anodyne has chosen New York-based graphic designer and artist, Allegra Raff, to display three works from her satirical 3D design series. Fox Hole, a gas mask resurrected as an elegant plum-colored stole, is part of a traveling exhibition directed by designer Kevin OCallaghan. This piece arises current issues of war, fear, and human adaptation, in which we are forced to incorporate the reality of violence into our daily lives. Raff has also included Brigitte Bardot Goes Wild!, an ornamental cuckoo clock portraying the 1960s Parisian sex symbol along side her 1980s animal rights campaign. The cuckoo clock is symbolic of Bardots seemingly sudden dramatic change of character, marked by the hypothetical moment of her transformation. Raffs third piece involves a selection from Sordid Snacks, a vending machine peddling a variety of mock junk food snacks. Bright, colorful, and alluring packaging boasts each products hazardous ingredients.
